The Gambia

As of May 15, 2023, all cargo shipments to and from The Gambia – Banjul require a shipping certificate also known as an Entry Summary Number (ENS) or Exit Summary Number (ENX), shipping certificate also known as CTN.

Shippers / Forwarders are requested to follow the imposed procedure by the official authorities to avoid any difficulty or penalty upon clearing the goods at destination

ECTN issuance is suspended for the time being.

Documents required:

  • Bill of Lading 
  • Commercial invoice / Freight Invoice

 

  • Export Customs Declaration

Regulations

  • CTN number is issued at the very end of the procedure. Your CTN must be validated at least 5 days prior to vessel arrival at POD.
  • Cargo arriving to POD without a valid CTN or with false information on their CTN can be charged with hefty fines that will be determined by the Gambian authorities.

 

  • Any false information provided can be charge with a non-compliance fee by the authorities.
  • Should amendments be required after confirming your draft, amendment fees will be imposed
